  7. Libera

    Walter Yamazaki / Arts In Film / United States / 2017 / 6 mins
Dancers often struggle with the complexities of their own minds. Whether they are bound by their self-doubt or liberated by their love for dance, it is a continual journey of self-discovery and faith in their chosen path. This short film examines each dancer in both worlds - the world of constraint and the world of infinite freedom - and how so often they must strive to find the balance between the two.

  8. Rosé, Chèvre and Vernet

EcoCinema, Arts In Film, Food & Wine On Film / 110 mins
Rosé... is, well, Rosé. Chèvre is goat cheese... and Vernet? Joseph Vernet is a remarkable 18th century French painter whose painting of sea ports, skies, seascapes and working people set a new bar for French painting. His work is the inspiration for our Closing Night film "FRENCH TOUR - Tour de France" with Gérard Depardieu. Come to the films and Reception Friday afternoon and see reproductions of Vernet's French Ports series. After the films, Robert Rex of Deerfield Ranch winery will discuss his philosophy of Rosé and we will sample a taste of his rosé as well as Ashton Vineyards Rosé of Syrah.

When she comes across Adam, a young street musician selling his keyboard, she buys it on a whim under the pretense of wanting to learn piano. Suspicious and wary, Adam agrees to teach her and quickly finds himself captured in an unsteady home with one feisty yet compassionate lady. Loaded with heart and grace, Slipaway features fine performances by Elaine Partnow and Jesse Pepe.
