Description

Thanks to sponsors Wilson Daniels and Arnaldo Caprai winery, there is a three hour seated tasting seminar with world-renown Sommelier Charlie Arturaola who along with Sommelier Christopher Sawyer, an American ambassador for the Concours Mondial du Brussels, and Michael Traverso, Senior Brand Manager Italian Estates, will introduce wines from the grapes of the Italo-Argentinean comedy The Duel of Wine about a sommelier (starring Arturaola) who has lost his sense of taste. The film screens after the seminar.

Shot in some of Italy’s most evocative cities and wine regions from Piedmont and the Veneto to Umbria and Sardinia, the film is a madcap blend of comedy and emotion, wine tasting and infomercial, featuring cameos of winemakers and chefs playing themselves. Among them are the naturally comic Marco Caprai of Montefalco’s Arnaldo Caprai.

 The tasting seminar dubbed “Taste your Senses – The Family Wines of The Duel” includes tastes of wines that are featured in the film including ;

Montefalco, Arnaldo Caprai Umbria-Italy

Champagne Gosset Reims-France,

Venissa -Bisol-Veneto-Italy

Txakoli Pilota, Arguiñano- Euskadi

Chianti Classico Carpineto,Tuscany

MonteBuena – Rioja Alavesa – Euskadi

Malbec Catena Zapata – Argentina

          Tannat Blend, Preludio -Uruguay

As a world-renowned sommelier, Charlie has one of the ten best palates in the world according to the American Wine Association.
 Charlie informs, educates and entertains wine lovers in five languages, winning countless hearts and awards, including the Chevalier by the Ordre des Coteauz de Champagnes, and in 2012 the International Wine and Spirits Communicator of the Year .

Charlie’s unique ability is to share his knowledge and passion. After the seminar, the novice will be totally inspired and wine experts will once again remember why they fell for wine in the first place!

 The tasting seminar is limited to 24 people.

    The famous Sommelier Charlie Arturaola fell from grace after a momentary loss of his taste during the shooting of a movie. The image of "a Sommelier without palate" destroyed his career. After a few years, Charlie becomes a taxi driver, but he never gave up of dreaming to get his reward back. When Charlie accidently gets to know the newcomer Italian sommelier, he will come with a crazy plan to try to get back into the wine world!
