The Perfect Protein
Directed by Caterina Barjau and Jorge Martínez
Humans are the leading force of oceanic life decline, and if we continue overfishing at the pace we are going, we could extinct our fish population forever. The Perfect Protein highlights the importance of preserving sea life, and the precautions humans, as a community, can take to conserve a global commodity.
Famous chefs from around the world speak on behalf of Oceana, an organization that protects the world’s oceans, as they are taking sustainable approaches to the meals they cook to help promote sea life preservation. According to scientists, our fish stocks are in serious decline. If the 30 countries that control more than 90% of the fish caught in the world approved effective management measures to stop overfishing, limit incidental bycatch and protect habitats, there would be enough fish to provide nutritious daily food for a 1 billion people. The Perfect Protein gives a consciously aware view on human’s detrimental effects on oceanic life, and steps we can take, together, to reverse our harm before it is too late.
