Description

Here are some of the very best and highly prized short films of 2015.  Not to be missed. Includes Noble Spirit, Birthday, Come Away with Me, When the Fall Comes.  Filmmakers attending.

The Noble Spirit – Fred Noble grew up in an orphanage and became an extreme skier, windsurfer and para-glider.  In 2010 he was diagnosed with ALS, Lou Gehrig’s Disease.  This incurable degenerative condition usually results in death within 3 to 5 years but Fred faced the challenge head on and continued his passion for living life to the full and even with the loss of use of his legs continued to ski and para-glide.    His can-do attitude even in the face of imminent certain death is a powerful message that life should be lived for the moment and that anything is possible.  Preparation for death is the most empowering thing that can happen to a person

When the Fall Comes – “When the Fall Comes”, a film about love, loss and art, chronicles how one woman moves through grief by using dance, poetry and a performance piece to illustrate her healing process. “When the Fall Comes” weaves through vivid images of the San Francisco Bay Area, Argentine tango dancing, performance moments and poignant interviews focused on grief and the arts. First time producer Adriana Marchione brings a stunning portrait of her personal story experiencing the loss of her husband. “When the Fall Comes” ventures into melancholy as well as the joy and reverence that accompanies loss.

Birthday – When a young military wife gets news that her Marine husband has been severely wounded in combat, she discovers that life ahead for them is going to be a difficult and yet amazing journey. This dramatic short is an inspiring and enriching experience.
