  3. Vis à Vis

Nevio Marasovic / Croatian New Wave Spotlight, World Cinema / Croatia / 2013 / Comedy, Drama / 81 mins
Rising star director Nevio Maravic, a cross between Woody Allen and a Croatian Alexander Payne, has a relaxed approach to filmmaking. This bittersweet comedy follows a film director and his leading man to the remote island of Vis to work on the script. Due to the isolation they face during the winter, they unexpectedly face their own frustrations which are constantly intertwined with the film's plot! The film is praised for its fantastic scenery and a delightful score by Andrew Bird.
