  2. Amaroq Weiss from the West Coast Wolf Organizer, Center for Biological Diversity shares her knowledge about wolves

    Lecture
    Preceding Druid Peak at 7pm Amaroq Weiss from the Center for Biological Diversity will be speaking to us about wolves. She will also be available after the film to answer questions. Amaroq Weiss is the West Coast Wolf Organizer for the Center for Biological Diversity, covers wolf issues in California, Oregon and Washington as well as in the northern Rockies and on the federal front, and has worked in wolf conservation for over 17 years. She was a stakeholder representative in the process that helped draft Oregon’s wolf conservation and management plan, and is currently a stakeholder representative in the same process now underway in California. Her background as a biologist, former lawyer and rural resident provides a well-rounded perspective on wolves, and the biological, cultural and political issues surrounding this species. Amaroq has a B.S. from Iowa State University, and M.S. from University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a J.D. from University of California Hastings.
