Description

A Film about Kids and Music: Sant Andreu Jazz Band is about a project arising from a music class in Catalonia. Conductor, professional musician and teacher Joan Chamorro, brings together children between 6 and 18 years old, around a big band classic jazz repertoire with lots of swing. The film is their journey led by Joan Chamorro, who immerses us in his unique teaching method. We follow them from classroom rehearsals to the live shows in emblematic auditoriums Palau de la Música and Plaça Catalunya in Barcelona. The band is joined by Jesse Davis, Terell Stafford and Wycliffe Gordon to provide a unique Jazz film experience.

This film is but one of several in this year’s WCFF focus on MUSIC IN FILM.
